Welcome to Motor Preferences® for Golf

Most golfers don’t have a swing problem.
They have a model problem.

You’ve been told to “stay down,” “use your legs,” “keep the elbow in,” “rotate more,” “stay tall.” Some of those cues work. Some of them quietly fight the way your body actually wants to organize force. That’s why a swing can feel great on Tuesday and fall apart on Saturday. The motion wasn’t unstable. It was misaligned with how you naturally move.

Motor Preferences® are your body’s built-in default settings. They are not a style you choose. They are not a swing theory. They are the unconscious strategies your nervous system already uses to stay efficient, coordinated, and powerful. In golf, those preferences show up everywhere: how you stand over the ball, where you feel balance, how you load the ground, how you sequence hips and shoulders, and how you create speed without forcing it.

This introductory course starts with the most important split in the game:

Terrestrial golfers tend to organize more through flexion, grounding, and a pulley-like use of the hips and core.
Aerial golfers tend to organize more through extension, rebound, and a spring-mass strategy.

Neither is better. Both win. Both produce tour-level ball speed. They just get there different.
