Motor Preferences™ assessments are the next wave in maximizing athletic performance. Understanding that every athlete moves differently, making these evaluations, and finding the best way to use the information, is essential. MPE are the best at understanding the intricate nuances of how this works.
Discover how the body really learns to perform
Every athlete is wired to move in a unique way.
Motor Preferences™ reveals that wiring : the biological blueprint behind coordination, power, and timing.
When training matches that natural organization, performance accelerates.
When it doesn’t, progress stalls, fatigue rises, and injuries follow.
Our online courses give you the science, tools, and methods used by NCAA programs and professional coaches to decode every athlete’s neuro-biomechanical profile.
You’ll learn how to:
- Identify a player’s Motor Preferences®
- Choose drills and cues that fit their natural mechanics
-
Optimize mindset and technique to fit the context
- Restore efficiency, confidence, and repeatable results
No more guessing.
No more cookie-cutter programs.
Just clear science, applied with precision.

Our Pro Sports Level 1 E-Course offers a comprehensive, sport-agnostic introduction to Motor Preferences using examples from a variety of sports and athletic disciplines. This course is designed for coaches, trainers, strength & conditioning professionals, and movement specialists looking to build a deeper understanding of how athletes naturally move.
Participants will be introduced to the foundational concepts of flexion and extension, the Aerial vs. Terrestrial movement spectrum, the Move Dial, and several core Motor Preferences. Practical exercises and movement examples are included throughout the course to help reinforce application and understanding.
This course covers approximately half of the core Motor Preferences. The remaining preferences are covered in the Pro Sports Level 2 E-Course.
If you are specifically a baseball or softball coach, we recommend the Baseball/Softball Level 1 E-Course, which is sport-specific and covers all 8 Motor Preferences in detail.

The Pro Sports Level 2 E-Course builds on the foundation established in Level 1, offering a deeper and more advanced exploration of Motor Preferences through a general sport lens using examples from multiple athletic disciplines. This course is designed for coaches, trainers, strength & conditioning professionals, and movement specialists looking to further their understanding of individualized athlete development.
After a brief Level 1 recap, participants will explore more advanced concepts including associated vs. disassociated movement, motricities, motor shoulder, vision preferences, introversion/extroversion chains, and aerobic vs. anaerobic profiles. The course also introduces testing protocols for select preferences while continuing to emphasize scientific understanding and practical application.
Together, Pro Sports Level 1 and Level 2 cover all core Motor Preferences and provide a complete foundation in the Volodalen Motor Preferences framework.
If you are specifically a baseball or softball coach, we recommend the Baseball/Softball Level 1 E-Course prior to Pro Sports 1/2, which is sport-specific and covers all 8 Motor Preferences with direct hitting, pitching, throwing, and movement applications.
